ISSH Basic Hand Surgery Course 2013-13-10-19

Dated: 19th 20th October 2013 Venue: Hotel SRM, Trichy The India Society for Surgery of the Hand (ISSH), under the auspices of Tamilnadu Orthopaedic Association (TNOA) and the Trichy Ortho Club organized the first national level prestigious Basic Hand Surgery course in the rock fort city- Trichy between October 19th and 20th 2013. Olympia Hospital & Research Centre was the conference secretariat with the lectures venue at Hotel SRM, Race course Trichy. Over 130 delegates including Professors, Assoc / Asst Prof, Lecturers, Graduates, Postgraduates, Orthopaedic surgeons, Plastic surgeons and General Surgeons from Tamilnadu, Kerala, Pudhucherry, Andhrapradesh, Karnataka, Maharastra, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Bangladesh had attended this first and exclusive conference held at Trichy. The course theme was about “What, When, Why and How in Hand injuries”. The invited faculties were Prof. Dr Bhaskaranand Kumar ( Senior Consultant Orthopaedics Surgery, Head of the Department, Hand & Microsurgery, Manipal, Mangalore), Prof. Dr. K. Sridhar ( Senior Plastic Surgeon, Vice Principal, SRM Medical College, Chennai), Dr Hari Venkatramani ( Plastic Surgeon, Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore), Dr. Srinivasan Rajappa ( Associate Prof, Ramachandra Medical College, Porur, Chennai) and Dr J. Terrence Jose Jerome ( Head of the Department, Ortho, Hand & Reconstructive Microsurgery, Olympia Hospital Trichy) The CME started at about 9.00 am on 19th October 2013 with the Introduction about CME course which was given by the course director Prof. Dr Bhaskaranand Kumar. Followed by it, there were lecture series with video demonstrations and interesting interactive discussions. Inaugural function was held at 11.10 am following the tea break. Prof Dr Mathivanan, Head of the Department Orthopaedics welcomed the august delegates.
